What is ULN2004AN Chip?

The ULN2004AN is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor array designed by Texas Instruments. It consists of seven Darlington pairs and is used to drive high-power loads, such as motors, relays, lamps, and solenoids, in industrial and consumer applications.

Key Features:

  • Seven Darlington Pairs: It includes seven Darlington pairs, each capable of sinking high current (up to 500mA per channel).
  • Wide Voltage Range: Can operate with a supply voltage from 5V to 50V, making it suitable for a variety of high-voltage loads.
  • High Current Sinking: Each channel can sink 500mA, with the entire IC capable of sinking up to 3.5A.

Applications:

  • Motor Control: Common in stepper motors and DC motor drivers.
  • Relay Driving: Used in relay control circuits for switching high-power devices.
  • Industrial Automation: Drives solenoids and actuators in control systems.

The ULN2004AN is ideal for applications where high current and voltage control are needed in a compact form.
