What is IR2103S Chip?

The IR2103S is a high- and low-side MOSFET driver from Infineon Technologies (formerly International Rectifier). It is a surface-mount version of the IR2103 driver, designed for driving N-channel MOSFETs in high-voltage power switching applications.

Key Features:

  • Dual MOSFET Driver: Capable of driving both high-side and low-side MOSFETs, ideal for H-bridge configurations.
  • High-Side Voltage: Supports a 600V high-side voltage, suitable for various high-voltage systems.
  • Peak Output Current: Provides 2A peak output current for high-side and 4A for low-side MOSFETs.
  • Bootstrap Operation: Uses bootstrap capacitors for high-side MOSFET drive, eliminating the need for an additional high-side power supply.
  • Low-Side Logic Compatibility: Accepts TTL/CMOS logic for ease of integration.

Applications:

  • Motor Drives: Used in DC motorsBLDC motors, and stepper motor controllers.
  • Power Converters: Found in DC-DC converters and power supplies.
  • Inverters: Common in solar inverters and UPS (uninterruptible power supplies).

The IR2103S is ideal for applications that require efficient high-side and low-side switching in power electronics, providing reliability and high current drive capabilities in a compact surface-mount package.
